Capacity control is a device that increases the efficiency of single-stage compressors. It is based on suction cut-off and control so that gas cannot flow to individual cylinders. At 100% load, the compressor opens all cylinders and the solenoid valves are closed. At partial load, the compressor opens some cylinders and the solenoid valves are open.
All 4-, 6- and 8-cylinder BITZER single-stage compressors are equipped with capacity control. The following are the possible remaining capacities:
4-cylinder compressors: 50%, 100%
6-cylinder compressors: 33%, 66%, 100%
8-cylinder compressors: 50%, 75%, 100%
